The drug tirzepatide, sold under the brand names Zepbound for obesity and Mounjaro for diabetes, has been found to significantly lower blood pressure in adults with overweight or obesity. A study published in the American Heart Association journal Hypertension revealed that adults who took tirzepatide injections for nine months experienced a decrease in systolic blood pressure. The participants taking different doses of tirzepatide saw average reductions ranging from 7.4 mmHg to 10.6 mmHg. Tirzepatide works by mimicking hormone action in the body and has shown promising effects in weight loss and improving cardiometabolic complications.
