The skeletal remains of a man and a woman have been found in Pompeii, along with a cache of coins and jewelry. The discovery is part of a dig in Region IX of the buried city that has uncovered ancient buildings and artifacts, such as a bakery, home renovation, and rooms with elaborate drawings. Pompeii was buried under ash and volcanic glass during the 79 AD eruption of Mount Vesuvius. The latest discovery provides more insight into life in the city before the disaster. The bodies were found in a small bedroom that was being used as temporary sleeping space during home renovation.
