Newcastle United are exploring other options for center-back signings in case they cannot reach a deal with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi. The club has had multiple bids rejected, with Palace seeking up to £70m. While a potential move for Guehi is not off the table, Newcastle is actively working on backup plans. They are in talks with Bayer Leverkusen about Edmond Tapsoba, a highly sought-after defender, and have also shown interest in Axel Disasi, a French international. Tapsoba had an impressive season with Leverkusen, while Disasi missed pre-season due to injury. Guehi recently captained Palace in their opening game.
