Diageo Reports Drop in Sales Amid Pandemic #
Diageo, a major drinks maker, has experienced its first decline in sales since the pandemic as consumers cut back on spending. The company, known for brands such as Johnnie Walker, Casamigos, and Guinness, joins other consumer businesses that have seen sales affected by inflation and high interest rates. Diageo’s sales dropped by 1.4% to $20.3 billion in the 12 months ending June, with Latin America and the Caribbean showing a particularly weak performance. Sales of Johnnie Walker globally decreased by 2%, while North America experienced a 10% decline.
