·1 min
Vandalism has occurred at Pennsylvania’s Gettysburg National Military Park, a historic site where a significant Civil War battle took place. The National Park Service reported that graffiti was spray-painted and carved on the War Department Observation Tower and a nearby rock over several days. Park Superintendent Kristina Heister expressed concern about the vandalism but was relieved that park staff could remove all traces of it. The NPS intends to locate those responsible for the graffiti. Vandalism is not uncommon at national parks, and public assistance is often sought to apprehend culprits.
