When two astronauts left Earth for the International Space Station two months ago, they didn’t bring their personal belongings. The astronauts were involved in a test flight of Boeing’s Starliner spacecraft and expected to return to Earth within a week. However, due to ongoing issues with the Starliner capsule, they may remain on the space station through early 2025. NASA is considering extending their stay and if necessary, they would transition to become full-time expedition crew members. They would continue to perform spacewalks, maintain the space station, and conduct scientific experiments.
